Its a near impossible situation to have an enviable ambience in the lap of nature with minimum human intervention to further spruce it up, excellence in service that leaves nothing to speculation and the most relishing gourmet experience. And yet I did find one such place. Not once but its been multiple times now. The place had been luring me back every time. Make no mistake, am talking of Village Canopy in Kumbalangi in Kerala. It had been a worthy experience every time. Most intriguing, but at every occasion I was experiencing its charm in different ways. Don't miss the sun going down, so near, at the ridges of the backwaters. The narrow path winding its way to the location is the harbinger to the treat in waiting. Yet to see another place that has it all. Thanks Prince, Oh yeah, he is a real Prince of hospitality, for the great experiences.😊👍

I visited Village Canopy on a monsoon weekend. The experience was surreal. A little, cozy place like home opening to the beautiful backwaters. The place is beautifully maintained. Dinner was served at an outdoor facility adjacent to the backwaters. Rooms were spacious enough for us and super clean too. Martin chettan and family have done a great job of finding the perfect balance between home stay and resort. Food was amazing. The place is known for sea food. You get fresh fish and other meat too. Williams, the staff member there, was a good. I must say, my weekend with family at Village Canopy was the highlight of my vacation.
I am going there every single time I visit Kochi. If you are looking for a quick getaway to refuel your body, mind and soul, Village Canopy is your place.
PS: the facility attracts a lot of international travelers. It makes sense to book weeks before your travel.

This is the place where nature meets peace. A perfect home stay, Where we stayed in the room on the ground floor. The room was compact for 2 adults and a kid. The backyard is an abundant place with flowery plants, there are man made water bodies in the backyard which are photogenic. The backyard is definitely a great playground for kids with swings and park benches. There is also a dining area by the end of the backyard where it meets the backwaters. This property owner got boats and a short backwater boating can be arranged on demand(paid).
Property owners are so polite, they provide bed and breakfast as service. There is also a manager who helps us with planning things to go around. This is definitely a cost effective home stay, the route to the stay is a bit narrow. Child friendly, they supported preparing food for our kid based on our specifics. Night will be mesmerizing as the backyard will be lit by lot of fireflies.

Wow....! Awesome place to spend holidays...So calm & quiet... away from all the hustle & bustle... Superb location...with backwaters one side... Open space with lawns & plants all around...Fresh air...Amazing scenic view... At far...the horizon touching the sea...The murmuring of waves...The enchanting experience of embracing sea breeze in the evening is unforgettable...sheds are there to enjoy the evenings..
Rooms are clean, hygienic & well maintained... Excellent food with delicious sea food & other dishes... Warm & welcoming hospitality...

Awesome getaway to relax and unwind. The spacious, well maintained room with a wide variety of plants and trees. But the exotic orchids was the best part of it all. Covered by nature's beauty and the sit out that gives you the view of the sunset. The Chinese fishing nets and the gentle breeze. We were welcomed with some beautiful rain even in November!! Just sat and watched the downpour. Childhood memories. Delicious food cooked with love and care and the host always eager to make us comfortable. Excellent.

A get together after the pandamic was really a dream. But it happened last Sunday and the energy of that wonder full day is still there in mind of all of us. The natural ambiance, mind blowing wind, green meadows, lake view, homely food, calm and lovely atmosphere contribute to made it a wonderful day. I really appreciated my friends for choosing the place _Canopy _Kallenchery resort in Kumbalangi. Its very good place for such gathering... at minimum cost.

Excellent property spread over a vast area, rooms were clean and hospitality at its best. Martin hosted us very well right from the booking. The property has a backwater at its backyard with a good play area, would be apt for kids as well. Simple homely food menu with tasty food which will be prepared on order basis. Boat rides was arranged for us by the property. One of the not to miss stays in kumbalangi.

This place is full of serene and peaceful. Our host Bridget is the sweetest person i have ever met great hospitality and Williams made sure we got everything we asked for. One of the best place to spend your weekend with you family and friends. This place looks exactly like the pictures well maintained and surrounded with lots of flowers and fruits. I have been to this place a couple of times. Itsa beautiful place, very serene and away from all the the loudness of the city. The host and the staff were very friendly.they provided authentic kerala food (we had ordered for that), which was very delicious. Also a lot of activities like boating and the beautiful sunset along the backwater made my trips to this place really worth it.would definitely recommend it.

We had an amazing time at Village Canopy. The homestay was apt for all the age groups. The kids had ample space to play around and for us grown ups, it was perfect spot to unwind. My mom who is an elderly loved it because it was accessible and she loved the peace and serenity. The hosts made us feel comfortable, the food was simple and mind blowing and extremely clean and hygienic. I loved it and would love to visit again.

A great place to spend your vacation/staycation. The location is calm and full of greenery. The host is amazing and any problems of yours would be solved right away. The food here is a treat! Hands down one of the best and would highly recommend to try the cuisine over here. This place also has great spots nearby where you can have fun and relax. Nestled between the backwaters, easily accessible from Kochi city, where you can enjoy the serene atmosphere, cool gentle breeze and the lullaby of backwater.
The homely food served is superb, which tickles your taste buds and prompts you to frequent this haven.

I had a wonderful time visiting village canopy. I was taken on a boat tour to visit the backwaters and see the mangrove trees. Then I was shown many activities of traditional life in Kerala. The host was very thoughtful and answered all my questions.
Then I was treated to a delicious lunch! A beautiful place to visit to immerse in nature and traditional lifestyle.

I had a nice weekend along with my friends there.The service was so good and the Hospitality was excellent.We had a mesmerizing sunset view from there and the backwater was clean and We even had a fishing there.Totally it was a wonderful experience and I'm sure that you won't regret it if you're looking for a couple of leisure days along the banks of Cochin.

Had visited the place to check for an engagement function. The location is top notch. Had interacted with the owner for the venue details and tariff details, he is totally friendly and easy to deal with. They have 2 double bed rooms for rent and they provide breakfast as well. They don't prefer bachelors.
Overall I like the location and service from them. Recommended.

Peaceful ambience, rich and clean rooms with wonderful service by all the staffs. Homely kerala food available at affordable rates. This property has a very beautiful open garden space with a variety of trees, flowers and bonsai plants. Village canopy is one of the best stay experience in Kumbalangi Kallencheri with not much commercial and less crowd.
